Janet Hohmann

 
 

Janet has over two decades of strategic communications experience working both in-house and heading agency teams for some of the world's most innovative companies, including HP, IBM, Splunk,  BEA, BMC Software, Edifecs, Dolby, Pentaho, Sony and the Discovery Channel.  Janet is currently a communication leader for Edifecs. Her current role includes global external communications, internal communications, media relations, analyst relations, social impact, social media and community relations.

Janet has been credited with many corporate public relations successes during her career. Her diverse experience has enabled her to manage all aspects of a company's public profile—from developing crisis plans and high-impact creative campaigns to managing global teams and producing high end and well-organized events. She is adept at partnering with senior executives to tell their stories. In addition to spending more than 20 years in Silicon Valley, she lived and worked outside the U.S. in London, England, further honing her skills as a global communications executive.

Janet founded an initiative to promote female leaders in HIT, #WhatIRun and whatwerun.com, and a networking group for women in healthcare and healthcare IT, #HersMeetUp. The groups sponsor women’s networking opportunities and donates regularly to brightpink.org in support of women’s health.

She is a member of HIMSS national, #HITChicks and Disruptive Women.

She holds bachelor’s degree in English Literature and a Spanish minor.

Melissa Scrymgeour

Melissa Scrymgeour is the Chief Information and Strategy Officer at Gold Coast Health Plan. Ms. Scrymgeour joined GCHP in November 2012 and is responsible for all technology and information security functions across the Plan including data analytics decision support and project portfolio management, along with organizational strategic planning.

Ms. Scrymgeour has a diverse IT and business background, having held progressive leadership roles in corporate, private and public sectors.  Immediately prior to joining GCHP, Ms. Scrymgeour worked for Harbor Freight Tools where she was responsible for application development support of corporate and retail business systems.  During her 15-yr. tenure with Health Net, Ms. Scrymgeour held business and IT leadership roles supporting enterprise operations and sales systems for both commercial and senior product lines.  Ms. Scrymgeour also served as an IT account executive for Health Net, responsible for IT portfolio planning, oversight, and delivery for its largest commercial book of business.

Sunny Cooper

 
 

Sunny has been working in the healthcare industry for almost 30 years in various capacities.  Most recently, she has been serving as the Chief Information Officer of San Francisco Health Plan (SFHP) since October of 2009.  She is responsible for the management and support of Information Technology Services (ITS) at SFHP.  ITS department provides services and support related to system infrastructure, network administration, help desk, production services, business system analysis and integration, project management, data warehouse, data analytics, and application development and support for the entire SFHP and Healthy San Francisco (HSF).

Prior to joining SFHP, Sunny was a Senior Director managing the Information Services Business Applications department in another Medi-Cal plan in California.  In addition to the IT experience, Sunny worked with various health plans (Blues and HMOs), medical groups/IPAs and hospitals throughout the entire nation in the various IT, management and financial consulting arenas for multiple years.  Sunny is both a registered Radiation Therapist and a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist.  She worked in various hospitals as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist for multiple years.

Sunny holds a Master of Health Sciences (MHS) degree from The Johns Hopkins University, a Bachelor of Sciences (BS) degree from The Ohio State University and a Certificate of Business Excellence from the Center for Executive Education, UC Berkeley.

Sunny was born and raised in Taiwan.  She is fluent in reading, writing and speaking Mandarin Chinese and a couple of Chinese dialects.  Sunny is an avid reader when she is not working.  She is also passionate about walking, traveling and seeing different cultures in various regions and countries.
