San Francisco, CA - Women in Healthcare Information Technology (WHIT) is pleased to announce the elections and appointments of the officers of the 2023 WHIT Board of Directors.
PRESIDENT: ANGELA RIVERA
Ms. Rivera is a Market Leader and Cybersecurity Advisor at The Chartis Group with over 25 years of healthcare and technology experience. She holds a Fellow Status with HIMSS and was the President of the Southern California HIMSS Chapter, and served as Board Member and Annual Conference Chair for the San Diego Chapter of ACHE. Ms. Rivera received her MBA from Louisiana State University, Shreveport, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, San Diego, and is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
PRESIDENT-ELECT: LISA GRISIM
Lisa has been at Stanford University Medical Center for over 30 years. She has spent the last 20 years in the field of Information Technology, specializing in the implementation and optimization of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), along with helping to lead the development and adoption of Lean tools and techniques within her organization. Her most recent EMR implementation resulted in Stanford Children’s Health (SCH) and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford attaining HIMSS Analytics Stage 7 of the EMR Adoption Model (EMRAM) in both inpatient and ambulatory. Lisa earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) from the University of San Francisco (USF) and her Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).
SECRETARY: MICHELLE BARKER
Michelle is an experienced IT healthcare IT leader with over 20 years of technology experience. Michelle’s background is in the inpatient hospital world, where she has worked for diverse hospitals, including Stanford Hospital and Clinics, Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, and Alameda Health Systems. She is currently the IT Director of Applications at Marin General Hospital (MGH) where she specializes in strategic integration and transformation leadership. Michelle joined MGH in 2014 and is responsible for all aspects of the clinical, financial, and enterprise application suites.
TREASURER: VICTORIA HURTADO
Victoria Hurtado is the CIO at the Health Plan of San Joaquin. She has over 12 years of experience working with local health plans in California. Victoria has demonstrated abilities in both a technical and business operations capacity and is an advocate to bridge the gap between business and technology by leveraging operational knowledge of industry and business operations while staying abreast of information technology changes. Victoria has a master’s degree, PMP certification, and a Scrum certification.
Women in Healthcare Information Technology (WHIT) was founded in 2015 by a group of women leaders passionate about bringing more females into the healthcare IT industry. Our mission is to seed, incubate and advance women’s career aspirations in Healthcare IT.
